If you’re about to upgrade your HD TV to 4K, one way to enjoy ultra high definition is to get Apple TV 4K, which was released earlier this year. And if you’re ready to cut the cord and go with a streaming service, DirecTV Now is offering the set top device free, provided you pre-pay for four months.
New subscribers can get a free 32GB Apple TV 4K, when they prepay 4 months of Directv Now. I think it’s a great deal if you’re a cord cutter & planned on getting Directv Now. Also, Ebates is offering $16 cashback for signing up with Directv Now through the Ebates app. It’s a win win!!! Despite AT&T stating June 8 was the last day to snap up a free 32GB Apple TV 4K with three months of prepaid DirecTV Now service, the wireless giant has gone ahead and extended the deal. AT&T has launched an updated promotion for DirecTV Now, offering a free Apple TV 4K if you prepay for three months of service. Previously, you had to prepay for four months of service to get a. DirecTV Now is offering a special promotion in which you can get a free Apple TV 4k player when you pre-pay for 4 months of DirecTV Now. The promotion is valid with any of DirecTV Now’s four.
This is valid for all of DirecTV’s four tiers of service. If you go with the “Live a Little” package for more than 60 channels, you can pay four months upfront at $35/month and get the Apple TV 4K. Other tiers include “Just Right” with at least 80 channels, ”Go Big” at 100 plus, and the “Gotta Have It” premier package at 120 channels.
DirecTV Now is also on the Apple TV 4K app so subscribers can watch a plethora of entertainment and sports channels. It just recently added regional sports networks MSG and MSG Plus for the New York market.
DirecTV Now has also been adding various CBS and Fox affiliates over the last month and half, increasing its offerings in local markets. Sports is one of the attractions that DirecTV Now has been leaning on ever since it launched last year. Like most streaming services, DirecTV Now doesn’t require a cable or satellite TV subscription and only needs is a wifi connection or a 4G or LTE connection on mobile devices.
The service hopes promotions like a free Apple TV 4K will make it stand out from its many competitors, including fuboTV, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, and YouTube TV (which is delaying the launch of an Apple TV app).
The war among streaming services continues, and it’s not going to end any time soon.

Apple Tv 4k Shows
Q. Didn’t I read awhile back that DIRECTV Now would have 4K? Did they ever do it? If so, which shows and channels are in 4K? — Jim, Corsicana, Texas.
Jim, I am glad you asked that question because AT&T, which owns DIRECTV, and DIRECTV Now, said way back in 2017 that the live streaming service would soon offer 4K. (DIRECTV already offered live and On Demand 4K.) Company executives later said it would be ‘early 2018’ when it would introduce 4K on DIRECTV Now, and, sometime after that, they said it would be the spring of 2018.
Well, it’s a month from the spring of 2019 and DIRECTV Now still doesn’t offer 4K.Apple keyboard model number.
AT&T has not explained why the launch of 4Khas been delayed, nor provided a new launch date. Meanwhile, fuboTV last summer became the first, and still only, live streaming service to offer live and/or On Demand 4K programming.
Directv Now Apple Tv Offer
Before you criticize AT&T for failing to deliver on its promise, it’s not uncommon for a technology company to miss a launch date, even by a full year or more. Saying you’re going to do something is a lot different than actually getting it done in this industry. Technology and market conditions often change from the original statement, pushing back well-intentioned deadlines.
But with DIRECTV Now’s sub growth now in rapid decline, AT&T would be wise to accelerate its effort to bring 4K to the live streaming audience. There is relatively little 4K programming available on the market, and DIRECTV Now could win over some new customers with an interesting 4K lineup.
Jim, hope that helps. Happy Viewing!
